Why do we feel anxious or
fearful? And right now as you are reading this brief note you are afraid of
something. The only place where fear has its power is in your past. Your past
failures and disappointments. Every time you begin to project your past into
your present, you lose control of your present and become fearful that what
happened the last time will happen even now. Let me put it to you now that your
past is not happening now but it is your mind playing a 'fast one on you' by
bringing to your recollection your past tragedies and the misery it inflicted
on you sweet soul. Be reminded that In this present moment you have the power
to decide what you want to be or achieve. The only time you lose that power of
'now' is when you allow your conscious mind to evaluate the 'now' situation for
you. The only limitation is that the mind has only one point of reference and
that is your past experiences recorded on it. Today when you feel afraid or
anxious, ask yourself the question, what am I afraid of? See whether what you
are afraid of is actually happening. You will realize that it is all just in
your mind. Just think of it this way, someone is afraid of dying but they are
not dead yet. Take charge of your present moment because that is where your
power of destiny lies.

Go after that dream you have kept in your heart and
put off for later for so long for fear of failure. Think about it this way ‘What
if you succeed’. Try to evaluate the gang you are hanging out with, they may be
the toxin preventing you from achieving your goals. Remember a gang is a group of frightened
people without a sense of individual purpose. Their only importance lies in
being in the gang.
